Ormeau TTC will continue to monitor the UK Government advice around the coronavirus situation.
Based on the World Health Organisation’s declaration that this is a public health emergency of international concern, the UK Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the UK from low to moderate. However, the risk to individuals remains low.
At present, all OTTC events/sessions will run as normal.
As a precautionary measure, OTTC is asking participants to suspend handshakes at club session / events until further notice. We also encourage all our members to follow the public health authorities’ advice on frequent hand-washing.
We are also asking participants of competitions/sessions to be prepared to show flexibility within in the event that players or clubs are unable to fulfil particular fixtures, for example, if team members need to withdraw due to self-isolation).
The Government has issued specific advice for anyone who has travelled to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days or since February 19 from Iran, specific lockdown areas in northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy or ‘special care zones’ in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea.
We encourage anyone in that position to monitor advice and take any appropriate action as recommended by the UK Government.
